Wow! Used to trade RMBS quite often, but have been out for a while. Got back in earlier this week on the assumption that the stock split would be good for some upward volatility.

Man. Any ideas on where we plateau from here? Is $100 reasonable? Or back toward $50? I'll take a $20 profit on a $55 stock in less than a week ANY DAY!

Not really, the price of RMBS has assumed for a long time penetration rates in excess of 50% of the DRAM market.

I would say that it is hard to overestimate the importance of the this Toshiba news. Japanese companies do not throw money away on licencing IP.

Toshiba have concluded that it is better value to settle than to fight, on SDRAM and DDR. They have therefore accepted that RMBS has rights over registers internal to RAM chips controlling interface timing, which is the only independent claim from the patent which the ITC is still considering relating to SDRAM.

If this is sustained then we can expect settlements from other manufacturers including significant retrospective amounts on SDRAM already manufactured over the last 5 years, as well as a 1% tax on *all* SDRAM and DDR for 5 or more years forward from here.

Its HUGE!
