George/Rare - I think they have developed their strategy based on a flat POG, and on not being 'gold bugs'. The idea of scooping up juniors at firesale prices doesn't IMO hold water. If anything, the opposite, it seems that they have been criticised for overpaying LAC (not a junior) AQP, and Sutton come to mind. They botched ARP by being too chintzy IMO. The industry depends on juniors to find gold and needs a higher price - I think Barrick is concerned with the viability of its mines, present and in development, and in protecting its huge stake in them. And, in passing, it is not 'heavily hedged'
