Two plaques bearing Confederate symbols were removed from the lobby of the Texas Supreme Court building this month
For what it's worth, the plaques were removed without notice in the middle of the night. Special precautions were used to muffle the sound of the drills.

Maybe it's different in Texas but, isn't the judiciary independent from the executive? Why assume the Governor did it?

How would the Governor have authority to do anything to the Supreme Court's building?
