Well, I didn't see that quite so clearly as you. I thought Coby's point about the inclusive address seemed to make a case for his speaking to the whole church and like her, had always been taught that when he teaches on matters of faith and doctrine, it was considered e.c. But- since I am no longer Catholic, and find the infallibility concept untenable anyway, I' don't feel like worrying about it or reading the whole shebang.
