Agreed. I've seen a few items on the BIS comments too and the author is correct that you don't see much in the US press about it.

That was true during the the height of the Asian crisis also and it certainly feeds my own thoughts of purposeful misinformation in the US.

There were times during 1997/1998 that if you read the Financial Times/Australian Financial Review coverage of the crisis vs. the WSJ/NY Times coverage you would have thought you were living on two different planets.

US financial news coverage is either totally incompetent or semi-censored as to content and view. Probably both.
