Time Warner Launches VOD Service in Texas

Austin, Texas -- Time Warner Cable last week launched a video-on-demand service to digital cable subscribers in this area, based on SeaChange International Inc.'s Interactive Television System.

Time Warner Cable's iCONTROL VOD service went live in Round Rock, Hutto and Taylor, Texas, offering a library of 100 movie titles with VCR-like controls.

Time Warner Cable of Austin is presently installing digital networking and set-top boxes, as well as SeaChange digital-video servers, in 14 cable hubs to provide VOD to other cities, including Austin, by October.

Time Warner Cable of Austin has more than 289,000 customers.
