I realize money is a sensitive topic, but I tend to forget it because I talk about money with clients all the time. But if money is a problem, then I wonder if her car is up for the trip? I've driven to Manhattan a couple of times, to visit my brother, and would definitely prefer to fly or take the train next time. If you can get an idea how much money she needs, then we can take a poll and find out whether SI members can cover her needs. She should probably drive to an airport and fly, then take the subway. Is there a neighbor or family member the kids can stay with? If so, her ticket will be around $300, lets say she needs $50 a day for food and subway fare. How many days does she plan to stay? <edit we should add in something for the kids' meals, too, since she won't be cooking. Unless she takes them with her.>

Thank you E, and JLA, for keeping us posted. I think it helpful if others let you two contact the hospital and share that info here. The nurses don't need the added distraction of each and every one of us calling for updates. I hope for the best for Edwarda.
