Hey Warren, I'll have to see what my broker did. We planned on tendering them before June 29th cutoff, but I didn't want my hands tied in the remote case that the bottom falls out of something between now and then. You haven't received the TEF shares yet have you? My broker had led me to believe TEF shares would not be transfered until the end of the tender period.

You guys see ALA today, powering ahead to another new all time high on very high volume. Huge institutional buying. Has the looks of big news to come.

Any of you guys have an opinion on whether to tender one's TeleSudeste Celular for Telefonica? As of the closing price on 6/16/00, it appears to be a wash--especially if commissions are considered.

Warren, did you have to pay a fee to tender the shares. I have all Brazil stocks in a Fidelity account and they are charging $38.50 each for the "paper work" for tendering TSD and TSP.
