I must say, I was surprised at the timing of the news release myself, and there might be nefarious motives. Nevertheless, the signs were all over the place from a technical point of view that something was brewing, and the news today cannot be overlooked. All that said, I think the exuberance is somewhat overdone and a more rational progression will ensue, after the MM's bring the stock back down to cover their own shorting today, IMHO.
