No, you should vote.

Even though many of the candidates are hacks and clowns, as you say. The important thing to note is how apolitical they are! That's right. The real political stuff is contained in the so-called "propositions".

Example: The local major league baseball team "needed" a new stadium. Thoughtful people got together a large number of signatures to place the question of the new stadium on the ballot in November. What happened? The courts killed it. They made sure it would not appear on the ballot. Wouldn't it be nice if real people could vote on something like that? If you don't vote, you will miss out on the little democracy we actually have. Sometimes, you can actually vote on something. Maybe.
