Here it is: DJN =DJ NHC Commun/Holder Talks -2: Less Than 10% Stake >T.NHC Symbol: C/NHC TLGD Industry: CMT ITC TEL Subject: DJN DJWI CAC DJS DJWB TNM Market Sector: NND TEC Geographic Region: CN NME ONT PA US USE Product/Service: DCA DIG DTE By Stuart Weinberg TORONTO (Dow Jones)--A shareholder of NHC Communications Inc. (T.NHC) is in talks to sell his stake, which represents less than 10% of the company's outstanding shares, said NHC president and chief executive Sylvain Abitbol. "We know of a buyer interested in purchasing a large block of shares," Abitbol told Dow Jones. "Management isn't selling anything." Earlier in the day, a source told Dow Jones that NHC was in talks to sell a stake in the company. Abitbol stressed that the talks relate to the sale of a stake in the company by an existing shareholder, not the sale of treasury shares. Shares of NHC, which makes high-speed access solutions for voice and data networks, are up 19% to 12.30 in Toronto Friday. Abitbol said Friday's increase may be partly due to the favorable reception the company received at the Supercomm 2000 trade show held in Atlanta last week. He said the company shared a booth at the show with Tollgrade Communications Inc. (TLGD), with whom it recently signed a partnership agreement. Tollgrade's shares had increased after the show. Tollgrade shares have surged from 85 1/2 on June 8, the day the show closed, to 112 on Nasdaq Friday. NHC closed at 8.90 on June 8. Abitbol also said that Friday's announcement that it had appointed Kenneth Hovaldt to the position of executive vice-president, sales and marketing, North America, may also be contributing to the increase in the share price. -Stuart Weinberg, Dow Jones Newswires; 416-306-2032 (END) DOW JONES NEWS 06-16-00 04:06 PM End of News from NHC bullboards:stockhouse.ca
