Zeev,

There are probably no important semiconductor products that don't infringe on other patents.

Some examples are:

SGI holds a patent which covers all graphics texture caches. It is impossible to build a graphics chip which does not infringe upon this patent.

MIPS holds a patent which covers all misaligned loads and stores. It is nearly impossible to build a CPU which does not infringe upon this patent.

STM holds a patent which covers all on-chip processor memory (caches, etc.) It is impossible to build a CPU which does not infringe upon this patent.

Most big companies hold large patent portfolios to protect against litigation. DRAM manufacturers are no exception.

Zeev you mentioned earlier in the day that RMBS could run to 115 later this summer. This would equate to the pre split high without a premium for last night's news. Any thoughts?

Also the $64,000 (am I showing my age) question is at what figure will we have an attractive buy. In this morning's mayhem I think we ran to 82-83, returned to 70 and than bounced to the 85/86 brick wall. Do the turnips show a possible return to low 70s?

IMO RMBS of today is not the RMBS of yesterday. It suddenly gained a whole lot of respect overnight.

Are we still progressing to an area of turbulence by the 26th-28th? The NAZ repeatedly has exhausted all of its energy before reaching the elusive 3,900 plus area.

PS: Will you treat us with a URL to view those venerable Zeevian turnips? If I begin eating turnips will I become a mega RMBS trader like you? Is barbecue and Tabasco sauce on the side allowed?

Zeev and Scumbria... Zeev you are correct. In addition Rambus made it clear that if they won Hitachi would not be licensed to use their IP. So Jim's statement was correct.
