I agree. Just look inside the DOW, these stocks are bloated to the high heavens. If this thing plays out like the good old days of high energy prices, the S&P guys will be replacing the techs with energy related stocks. I can remember when the energy stocks were a large portion of the S&P and I was buying stocks and calls on the old oils.

Many here have commented on government inflation numbers. Many feel that these numbers greatly understate real world inflation.

But going from the real world to Washington and Wall Street spin doctors -- the boys who brought us this problem have no regrets. In fact some of the "experts' who said a few years ago that the CPI overstated inflation are saying the same thing now.

According to Wall Street shill Senator Moynihan -- the CPI STILL overstates inflation by 0.8% annually. So the people who pushed through the Boskin Commission hatchet job still are not satisfied.

Now that government economic statistics have become totally politicized, it will not be long before nobody takes them seriously anymore.
