Dear fuzzymath: I invest long term on fundamentals and while I can understand the basics of technicals I really dont use them except sometimes to time my buys if I am interested in a stock fundamentally to begin with.
I dont know if there is going to be another market pullback or not in the near future, anything is possible. However, for the year history is on my side when I say generally an election year is a good year for the market. Barring some unforseen catastrophy, and presuming the FED acts responsibly in June 27/28 meeting (meaning no rate increase but probably continue on with the "dire" warnings) I really dont see what conditions are there to trigger a pullback. EARNINGS is now the key to EVERYTHING and from everything I have read or heard, earnings should be very good for at least the large cap companies throughout this year. JDN
