According to THE PRIVATEER, gold has usually outperformed gold stocks at major gold bottoms. In other words the gold stocks disbelieve POG, then play catch up later.

I know this flies in the face of conventional wisdom. But perhaps that is because many of today's investors do not have a long enough frame of reference.

Gold stocks did outperform gold at the 1993 trough. But POG outperformed at the 1976, 1982, amd 1985 bottoms.

So there is nothing written in stone on this issue. From a long-term perspective POG has usually (but not always) outperformed gold stocks at MAJOR troughs.

<<the only place to be right now is in jnr stocks

Wayne on average don't you think this is where most gold investors get burned ? i know a fellow who has a motley collection of these and tvx is the best of the lot. he won't look at anything new because he 'has problems with what he's got'

he sure does...the majors may not pay off as spectacularly as the jnr's but your chances of being burned are less, don't you think ??
