The fact that your brother was near death several times yet recovered gives us hope. I am visualizing Edwarda's B cells and T cells getting off their duffs and kicking intruder butt.

I think we are right to raise all these possible causes. Many times doctors make mistaken diagnoses or just don't think of all the possible things to look for. There obviously is a root cause and if they are truly stymied it's because they haven't explored all possible causes for her condition.

Again I wonder... just how good is the hospital she is in?

The further I get into this thread, the more this sounds like ecoli.

Flu like symptoms, Kidney failure..need for dialisis....
