You DID say that you did not want us to go easy on you? :-)

Oh yes. Great post. You seem to have a very good understanding of my situation. Almost psychic or something. I really appreciate the suggestions. I'm afraid this week I put myself a little more in the hole and am at a point where I'm pretty much forced to trade very little if at all (which may be a blessing in disguise). Cormac used the term "practice" instead of paper trading and I like that term. I haven't attempted scalping and don't have the capital for it but feel it suits me best. Seems the shorter the time frame the better I do and the less stress I feel, but don't have the capital to do so now (and obviously need to work on some things) so I'm stuck and will practice for a while.

PS: There is a book by Mark Douglas you may be interested in that covers the psychology of the trader themselves that is very illuminating. I am attempting to find a complimentary book that goes into concrete and very workable ways in how a trader can modify their behavior.

I read that book. I thought it was illuminating also but not real helpful as far as practical application. But increasing the awareness of what's going on is a good thing. He used about 3 times more words than he needed to, to describe things.

From Reminiscences:
"There is nothing like losing all you have in the world for teaching you what not to do. And when you know what not to do in order not to lose money, you begin to learn what to do in order to win. Did you get that? You begin to learn!"

Well, thank God I haven't lost everything, but enough to really shake me. Hopefully I'm beginning to learn now. Tuition is expensive.

Thanks again.
