Actually I think they are pretty restrictive. I have been told you are not even allowed a modem in your house if you are on the Fed's house arrest system. Isn't lack of outside contact part of the punishment?

They have enough trouble keeping inmates from running amok with phone and mail fraud schemes from prison. I doubt they would put people meant to be separated from society in front of a PC with a live connection to millions.
