Question:
There seems to be a common practice in some of the stocks I follow. The volume is flat and then 5 to 10 mm's or ecn names will go by on level 2 but none even have 100 shares. But this "action" will sometimes start a rally. This practice will more often occur within a rally that has calmed-the 10 or so prints with no shares will go by and then more buying comes in.
This doesn't bother me,it's colorful but peculiar. Any ideas on what this is? It happens so frequently I would guess others have encountered it.
(If I had to bet on it I would say it's those with the technology trying to get something going or keep something going)
