I met with 3 ISP's this week.

Pac Bell Says it's questionable if i'm able to have DSL.
Almost 17,500 feet thousand feet from 'the box' (one reading - second reading ~15,000..) - Engineer says' definitely yes,,,,technician (with 20 years experience) says' definitely yes,,,Policies and proceedures of marketing department told me to EAT SAND,,, and stop having an opinion,,,,that **THEY** made the decisions around here....LOL

I talked with the ISP's about becoming a part of their Network...so they would absorb my DIAL up ISDN 'measured' charges ..... runs me upwards of 400-500 per month...That sucks!
LOL. ~ I would do almost anything to NOT write a check to PacBell....Each Month.

A wireless (relay) option is functional about ONE mountain over...and i may be elgible for that....But I have no idea on Price....(just some rambling)

The last conclusion you should reach is that these guys do what they do to abscond with the dough. There isn't the slightest doubt that there is nothing apparently just about earning millions for failure, but never be fooled into believing that anyone ever gets away with anything. They always pay one way or the other. They just happen to end up here or there, but they're already rigged to be paid big wherever they land.

The entitlement game is part of the reward for entering Valhalla. That's the purpose of college. It separates those who happen to be skilled at some era's dogma from those who are skilled at keeping the society from failing. This era happens to be enamored with science in contrast to the medieval obsession with religion. It must be that the rewards of Valhalla aren't worth much.

The toughest thing to learn is that money is such a treacherous thing to possess that you should be thankful not to get it. It takes a long time of hard and painful experience before one gets that kind of knowledge. Even then most must reject it, for their raison d'etre is called into question if they accept what they've learned.
