The oncoming earnings season is meaningless. If the economy is really starting to slow down, and the corporate profits are getting affected, then this will not show up untill 3rd or 4th quarters.

Right now all major banks are reviewing their loan portfolios. If they'll decide to cut down on new loans for a while, this will slow down corporate spending considerably.
In turn it will slow down the equipmnet upgrades by major telcos. And this in turn will slow down the high tech sector. And you will see Naz at 2500.

Just a possible scenario.
