Edwarda also talked of work being done outside her door in the apartment house...possible toxins. Somebody up there needs to get the info on what was being done.....pesticides.....perhaps.

CB, I am not disputing that aspect of the message to which I responded. I believe that aspect is good. I believe we could get assistance from SI if we wanted to complile a folder of information such as you refer to. And I believe that almost any doctor worth his/her salt would at least give such data a look over.

What led to my post had to do with criticisms of imagined current treatment, and the replacement of that treatment with other specific treatment that was superior.

I hope this post is not seen as contentious, Bob. I am simply trying to put the ducks in a row - as I admire CB, and would hate to feel I am knocking her idea.

Geo.

PS: Herbal fat-burning potion in use by Edwarda: Xenadrine.

I don't want to tell anyone what to do, but I'd suggest that whatever information can be gathered about possibly relevant history should be distilled down to the most concise possible form and passed on to JLA, who can try to get it to the doctor most likely to consider it. It is unfortunate but true that if too many people try to contribute too much, the doctors may end up feeling harassed and not listen to any of it.

She is clearly very weak, and moving her at this point is a very dicey call. It could end up doing more harm than good. One way or another, only the doctors on the spot have the information to make that call.

I have some experience of tropical viruses, and it should be pointed out that many acute viral infections can only be diagnosed by symptoms, and in many cases the specific pathogen is never identified. Treatment of acute viral infections is generally symptomatic in any event: all they can do is try to control the symptoms until the immune system can get a handle on the virus.

Not saying that it isn't a good idea to bring in NIH or CDC, only that the lack of a specific diagnosis does not necessarily indicate that the doctors are doing something wrong.

My own gut feel, which is coming from the other side of the world and not worth a great deal, is that it would be best to leave her where she is, locate the top specialist in the field in NY, and bring that specialist to her. Knowing who to go to, and making sure that person takes the time to fully study the case records, will not be easy.

Hoping.
