Dear fuzzymath: Yes, the price volume numbers do concern some people. But IMHO you have to look THROUGH them and consider the underlying conditions. It is the second half of the month and the last month of the calendar quarter. A slow institutional buying period to begin with. Secondly the Day traders who created a good bit of the volume the past few months got slaughtered and many are either low on cash now or scared shitless, or both. (gg). Finally, compare this year to previous years volume at same time. I dont believe its materially different (but havent checked lately myself). Here is my SEAT OF THE PANTS guess. Beginning after the 4th of July money will be pouring into the coffers of the Institutions from the myriad of retirement plans qtly contributions, earnings outlooks will be superb, and you will see a very nice pick up in volume/price data. So, lets see whos right!! Your the numbers guy, you can report here say around 7/12. JDN
