Zeev,

I believe Samsung, the #1 memory manuf., will be next on signing IP royalty for SDRAM, DDR SDRAM, and controllers. Avo Kanadjian, Rambus VP of Marketing, came from Samsung (prior positions with Toshiba) in Jan. 2000. He must have excellent knowledge/ties with Samsung management.

Samsung is in the lead on the development of 288Mb Direct Rambus DRAM component and 576MB Rambus In-line Memory Module. Also, Intel invested 100M in Samsung for the production of RDRAM, so it appears as Samsung is very friendly to Rambus and Intel.

Micron is very adverse to RDRAM and are a bit behind in producing RDRAM (or so it appears). Intel is selling some of their 6% of Micron stock (for 1/2 billion investment) that they bought for ~1/4 of its current price in Oct. 1998, so it would appear that Micron will be very tough to license.
