re: venting a bit on my 54642 and 54643

Why does the gold-is-just-a-commodity crowd always jump to the concluson that central banks should sell gold? Wouldn't it be more efficient to distribute the gold to its owners, the citizens of the respective countries, who could then decide whether they wish to sell? Why automatically assume the additional step of EXCHANGING GOLD for FIAT?

The sad truth is, as usual, America's gold policy favors the Money Cartel at everyone else's expense. There's little point in holding gold lower when the dollar is falling agaianst everything else anyway. What we will succeed in doing is making it impossible for anyone to save. In fact nobody in America saves, nor have they for years ("Cash is Trash"). Instead, they're taught to invest, and ignore risk.
