Partisan Paul-- You seem to have a reading comprehension problem. You might want to re-read that post and write a response to what the "Things change rapidly in this business" statement refers to (Intel pursuing Timna, implying Intel does not view system on a chip as a fantasy anymore) rather than what you incorrectly construed his post as implying (National Semi's vision of system on a chip is not a joke). I especially like your "Get a clue" comment at the end. You should recant that, or at least apologize.

Paul: "That article was published A YEAR AGO !!!"

- That is what I think is so funny. This quote is from 1996:

"Intel Corp. Chairman Andrew S. Grove dismissed it as a ''fantasy,'' "

But, now, in 2000 it is possible with Timna! Or 2001 maybe?

"Have you seen a PC announcement with a GEODE processor since that time ?"

Nope, actually not. Do you think the PC on a chip is a complete failure?

Paul,

Have you seen a PC announcement with a GEODE processor since that time ?

Geode is targeted for information appliances, not PC's.

Halla almost brought NSM to BANKRUPTCY - and only by selling off the bulk of the Cyrix business did he prevent this disaster from happening.

NSM is doing great and trading close to it's all time high. The important part of the Cyrix business (MediaGX) he kept, but I'm sure we talked about that on the golf course ;^))
