Would you please explain HOW Qualcomm has LOST credibility? Because people who aren't real familiar with the company know about it only through that $1000 price target. Subsequent events have made the analyst look like a cheap tout and the company look no different than any number of no revenue junk companies who have had their prices temporarily pumped up by analyst hyping. Qualcomm didn't do anything to deserve this (assuming they didn't encourage Piecyk to publish that target) but their image is tarnished nonetheless. Again, you seem to be focusing on stock price. Would you please discuss the how Qualcomm has had a "tough three months...as a company"? Well, let's see. They had to fight tooth and nail for a Japanese CDMA development effort that was supposed to be a slam dunk (possibly causing irrevocable damage to their relationship with the Japanese in the process). China Unicom welshed on an agreement to do current generation CDMA development and, after much hemming and hawing, agreed that they would do 3G CDMA after obtaining who knows what concessions from Qualcomm, and without giving us any reason to be optimistic that this will go any more smoothly than the last go round. And the Korean government ended subsidies for CDMA handsets. Yeah, I know, that last one is supposed to be a good thing. I am not focusing on the stock price (I couldn't care less) but I don't see how you can say the fundamentals are better. Qualcomm has struggled in Asia, has still not sealed a deal on 3G, and I'm not seeing much in the way of new contracts elsewhere. If you were to ask IJ how the last three months have been for Qualcomm, disregarding the stock price, I seriously doubt that the answer would be "great!". People are losing their jobs at Qualcomm? Now that is news. Where did you get that? Sorry, I guess my syntax was a little mangled on that one. What I was trying to say is that the people at Qualcomm can counter the negatives coming from Snyder simply by doing their jobs. It was someone else who posted a rumour that people are being laid off before the end of the month. I have no idea whether that is true or not.
