RE: The real McCoy...

My personal favorite from that sad, sad, mad tale was:

Will he consider diversifying?

"Diversification is more or less an excuse for not being able to read the future," he said.

I guess I'll have to consider my reading of the future as a friggin' blank stare with my use of diversification. <ggg>

Sir Ares,

Thanks for the pebble story. When you hop on the pebble train it is hard to know when to get off. I suspect a number of us could substitute a different stock symbol and the story would still apply.

BTW, you neglected to include a review of the Yankees action. How did Knoblauch do that game? Not too many in the Twin Cities sorry to see him leave a few years ago. Then he was a good player and a lousy person. Now his skills are matched.

Greg

re: Chat-Room Millions, Real-Life Misery

I hate reading stories like that. Don't you wish just once they would run a story where the small-time investor wins big and that's the end of the story. They always win big and then crash even bigger. How about a story where some guy piles 100% of his money into some tech high-flier and then is savvy enough to pull out a big chunk of his winnings near the top and does something amazing, like buy a penthouse overlooking the city. Now that would be a great story!
