Paulie:

Re: "Better get YOUR HEARING CHECKED !!!"

Comment: Had it checked several times since October '99 since all I could hear from Intel were repeated (and unfulfilled)promises of a some-time-in-the-future (if ever) competitor in the 700 MHz to 1 gig range...The Compaq thing does sound like 8 months might have provided enough time for Intel, 50 times AMD's size, to patch up the botched gate problem, yet again...but only time will tell...could well turn out to be yet another false start by the big "I"...

More importantly, I wonder how many $100's more a 900 MHz PWeeIII "all-in" system will cost than an equivalent 900 MHz Athlon system!!! Poor Intel, after 8 months, finally get to the point of offering a couple of 900 MHz competitors, only to find that they can't compete on a price basis! Such a pity to watch the decline of such a once great empire!

(I think 2 announcememnts will put Intel in the lead !)

Paul,

We all know that Intel has no problem making announcements and celebrating their designs...the problem is they just can't follow through and perform.

Now that's a difficult problem to overcome....certainly more announcements tomorrow ain't going to do the trick nor is your incessent and manic posting on this thread.

Remember you all tried that last year and it didn't work!
