Paul,

Good job man. The thread has been dead for months, and you have brought it back to life.

BTW: I was at Fry's this morning and picked up a Dell 1.5GHz T-Bird system.

Paul,

A serious note about Fry's. High end Athlon systems continue to push out PIII systems. The fastest PIII system is now 700 MHz, (down from 750 a few weeks ago.) Athlons 750MHz and up are taking over the shelf space, and PIII's are going away.

Almost all of the Intel systems are on clearance.

Re: "Just why is is that nobody here on the AMDroid thread wants to discuss AMD's DELAYED SMP PROGRAM ?"

I'll take a stab.

I remember hearing that because AMD chose to use Alpha's EV6 bus architecture, they could even use Alpha MBs with only a bios change. It would appear that the SMP defect lies in the processor itself, not the chipset as has been claimed here. Otherwise we would be seeing SMP Athlon systems in Alpha MBs.

P.S. I am typing this on my SMP Celeron system....
