Dougie - Re: "1. What do you expect the performance advantage of that amount of RDRAM paired with Willamette to be over
(a) theoretical Willy SDRAM systems?
(b) theoretical Willy DDR systems?"

I have no idea. I don't waste too much time in speculating on what-if scenarios.

What I do know is that Intel will increase their performance advantage over AMD by delivering a 1.4 GHz x86 CPU on a standard 0.18 micron aluminum process .

Dougie - Re: "As for AMD server chipsets-- I believe they're planning on DDR once they enter that space, although I understand they have a small RDRAM team (insurance?) around."

AMD promised SMP systems for December 1999 !!!

They are LATE !!!

And they are getting LATER !

And their Copper Topper isn't providing any performance gains !!!

Is any AMDroid worried ???

Nah !
