<Who was the analyst who proclaimed that Duron would not be price competitive with Celeron due to larger die size? I see 100 mm^2 for Duron and 106 mm^2 for the .18u Celerons.>

That was our friend Ashok Kumar (and his buddy Paul Engle). These guys should wakeup and realize that Duron is quite competitive in die size with PIII - Duron's likely competition going into 2001.

Duron&PIII ~100 mm2
Thunderbird/Mustang ~120mm2
Wilamette ~180mm2

What do they know? They (some unknowingly) became FUDsters because they were led to believe how Duron can't be cost competitive with celeron. Ashok Kumar -- the expert with Intel's drawn lines in the sand; and the one that said AMD is a clown company and doesn't have a song or a prayer; and also the one that has a buy rating on AMD but bad mouths on every occasion - was among the first guys to spread this doubt.
