Ted...from Anand's review of the Duron:

The Celeron is where the Duron likes to sink its teeth into; Intel's value processor that helped to kill the K6-2 and K6-III sales is now being held at the mercy of AMD's latest creation. At any default clock speed, the Celeron, even with its SSE instructions can't compare to the Duron. Chances are that the "slowest" Duron running at 600MHz would have its way with Celerons clocked at higher speeds as well.
This is mainly because of the fact that the Celeron's performance is limited by its 66MHz FSB and 66MHz memory bus.

This is from his conclusion (good read):

Tejek - Re: "...there's nothing in this article to indicate a problem"

No problem ?

AMD's Copper process - from Motorola - is no faster than AMD's older ALumium process ?

Hector's Motorola causes Apple not to have competitive PowerPCs?

Apple shifts From Hector's Motorola back to IBM for Copper PowerPCs ?

AMD buys new Copper equipment from AMAT for next generation CPU process - bye bye 0.18 micron Dregsden/Motorola Copper Process AND equipment !

Motorola dumps AMD Flash process - acquired by Hector - and spends additional money to license SSTI's SuperFlash process ?

And you don't see a problem here ?

By the way - where IS THAT PROVEN SOI/Copper process you were YACKING about?

Paul

Re: "Last year, I told you that you need to be spending more time dealing with Intel problems instead of trying to fabricate problems over here. I repeat my suggestion.
This thread has done fine in your absense so has AMD and its stock."

I whole heartily agree. After only one day back in force, his shtick is even more lame than before.
