Why did you choose to pronounce Takeshita wrong? In Tokyo dialect each syllable gets even stress and full value, so that the name would be pronounced ta-ke-shi-ta. There are dozens of names that contain the syllable "shi" (Shigeta, the famous post-war Prime Minister, and some of them are followed by a syllable starting with t. I love transliterating Japanese names into English and then mispronouncing them. My favorite is a radiator shop in Honolulu "Ifukyu."
