Steve - Virtual Replicator does not actually copy the "snapshot" but instead captures the state of the data - which is why a snapshot can be created in seconds. Changes to the snapshot state are carried. This is the opposite of traditional journaling which preserves changes to the original state. This technique also allows the creation of virtual volumes which can contain different views of the same data.
