I liked Erasmus. Everyone in our book group like Erasmus- but no one liked the book except me. They all thought it was too technical and that you needed a science background to understand it. I am ot sure if you do or not. I have a science background so I can't really tell what reading it would be like if I didn't have one. But I didn't find it horribly technical. And then last night PBS had on it's Masterpiece Theatre production of BReaking the Code- about Turing. Have you seen it? Quite good. And btw- I know two population control zealots- I would say they see abortion as a necessary evil, not as something "popular". Do you know many zealots yourself? I don't find there are a great many of them.
