Ian, go back and listen to the call again. The RMBS execs, when asked about the compensation issue, stated that Toshiba had no current equity position in Rambus. They did not directly answer the question.

Ian, 2) Toshiba was granted no new warrants associated with this deal So Toshiba holds Rambus warrants? How much did they appreciate on Friday? How much would they be worth today without the announcement? 3) Toshiba may get warrants if they achieve certain production targets for RDRAM, but are in a race for these, the first 3 manufacturers who meet the milestones get them. And the size of these grants was unaffected by the Friday deal? Scumbria

Ian> The rambus execs answered this very explicitly in the conference call I have to disagree with you on that statement. Rambus management appeared to be very careful in the phrasing of their comments about Toshiba compensation. It seemed to be more like they are getting legal advise from ( Bill Clinton) rather than an honest reply. I have no doubt Toshiba will benefit greatly for making the first step... and I imagine the benefits will come from Rambus directly or indirectly. Regards Don
