Rambus Moneyflow

I follow Moneyflow very closely and on many days the numbers don't reflect what the price gain or loss is showing.

For example last Friday Rambus had a strong $60 plus million money flow while stock was up 25 plus points. Today Rambus money flow is a -$ 82 million.

On some days when Rambus is down you see a very strong plus money flow.

The way Rambus can often move a few points very quickly on relatively light volume makes money flow data important IMHO.

Money Flow (FLO)

The Money Flow study combines price and volume information.
RealTick only calculates Money Flow for tick charts. The value of the Money Flow study can be very high, so there is a default multiplier of 1/1000 in the Overlay dialog box.

Formula:

If the last tick is an up tick (i.e., if P(n) > P(n-1) ), then

F(n) = F(n-1) + ( P(n) * V(n) )

If the last tick is a down tick (i.e., if P(n) < P(n-1) ), then

F(n) = F(n-1) - ( P(n) * V(n) )

If the last tick is no change, then

F(n) = F(n-1)

Where:

F = Money Flow

P = Price

V = Volume
