Amkor says to invest up to $1 bln in Korea

SEOUL, June 20 (Reuters) - Amkor Technology of the United States said on Tuesday it plans to spend up to $1 billion to expand its Korean subsidiary's chip packaging and testing capabilities by the end of 2002.

Sounds like Amkor is bullish on themselves. . .I bought quite a bit more AMKR this afternoon on consideration of Intel's expansion plans. Intel is pretty prudent, so if they see the demand, it will be there. And if they output more chips, then Amkor will get more business. The perhaps sad part of this story is that I bought higher than when I sold a month ago. Oh well.
