The competitors will be out of business and Microsoft will be only as good as it has to be.

First of all, there is no law stating or implying that a company has to be better then it need be in order to be complient to law to my knowledge. Secondly, how does anyone know in fact, that Corel & Adobe will be put out of business due to Microsoft improving their products.

Are Netscapes products "out of business" due to OS improvement.

Are Quickens' products "out of business" due to OS improvement.

Are Real Networks products "out of business" due to OS improvement.

Are AOL's products "out of business" due to OS improvement. Etc.

We could whine about AOL's IM 'protection', but I elect not to. It's the consumer who votes with their feet, and that is whom should judge in the marketplace, not the utopian interventionists who seek justification of their means.

Perhaps you can name the companies that have gone under, due to OS enhancement, and more importantly explain how consumers have been harmed in such process. Not theoretically, but factually.

Cordially,

Gary
