Now that Intel has the fab capacity, they need a design which runs at competitive MHz.

No need to reply because I already know what you are going to say about Intel shipping more GHz PIII's than AMD and that Willy will blow away Athlon.

AMD is still having trouble with their PIII yields after all.

Looks like maybe. If you ever look at the Yahoo threads, there is (at least) one guy over there that knows developments at Intel very well (hint, not a lot on his profile except location: Oregon. Gee, I wonder who he might work for there ;-)
