truthslayer and Kevin. A couple of points: 1. Folks, you must read and understand this page on the Cyber-Care website, so that you will not be fooled by guys like Greenberg who know nothing about the technology. Easily transported by the patient or any caregiver, the EHC 500 Portable Patient Station is a one-piece fully-integrated Electronic HouseCall patient monitor that is installed in any desired location, <<<<often the patient's home>>>. It is protected by a padded fabric case. The EHC 400 Desktop Patient Station is a cart or a desktop-based <<<<system designed for individual patient homes, and for multi-user applications such as medical clinics or employee health centers, and group living environments such as assisted living centers and skilled nursing homes.>>>> Both EHC Patient Stations are self-contained and fully featured with an Active Matrix touch screen. The units offer two-way interactive video and voice teleconferencing to care providers with custom-configured vital sign monitoring equipment and access to online medical information and pharmaceutical supplies. They have patient-friendly software, requiring no computer skills to operate. A multimedia audio/video help screen assists the patient in operating each medical device independently, or the peripherals can be operated remotely by the provider. High frame rate video and simultaneous audio provide high quality communication and clinical visualization between the patient and provider, family or other patients. Optional graphic display of vital sign trends is available for both the patient and the provider. Scheduling software allows caregivers to post availability and enables patients to schedule visits without clerical assistance. For unscheduled needs, the patient or the provider can initiate the call. For unscheduled calls from patients, CyberCare's intelligent routing network automatically locates on-duty care providers, who can change the routing as needed for varying locations and providers. The EHC 500 and EHC 400 patient stations connect to TCP/IP "intelligent" routing over standard telephone lines, Cable TV, ISDN, DSL, most internet and intranet configurations, local and wide area networks, and ATM networks. " So as you can see, both systems are designed for patients homes, but are built differently. Their functionality is IDENTICAL! Why the FDA release did not include the 500 is a question Cyber-Care will answer in due time. Keep bugging them about it, and they will eventually explain the reason. We would all like to put this one to rest. 2. Cyber-Care has always stated that their products have been Pending FDA Approval, and if any wrong-doing on the part of Cyber-Care had been discovered, there would have been a warning issued by the FDA (a minor slap on the wrist anyway). But as you can see by the information and links below, there are many warnings issued to big players for breaking the rules. No such warning has or ever was issued for Cyber-Care. FDA approval of the devices backs up this statement of fact that the FDA is OK with Cyber-Care practices. New FDA Warning letter for Medtronic biz.yahoo.com In the event that CYBR would get one, they have 15 days to comply or state their reason for being unable to comply within 15 days. Still no Cyber-Care as of 5/26/00: 63.75.126.221 FDA Investigation?
