Of course they don't know much more about the general market conditions, that is why it is important to see what they are doing as a whole, across the board, in every company. If you do, you'll see that they were right about 1987, they were right about Feb-March 2000, and will be right to sell, not buy in May and April. (Insiders can't churn their positions rapidly - takes 6 months to reverse your position, so you can't argue that they're missing profits - they couldn't take them.)
