I was thinking more along the lines of everyone having
their own little wireless LAN with a variety of wireless
devices, all using a single CDMA card in your wallet/person as a gateway to communicate with the outside world. Your
PDA, webpad, cellphone, newspaper etc using a single CDMA based credit card sized high speed modem could communicate with the outside world. You purchase a device from the store, register it with one or both of your CDMA card modems and as long the device is within 20m of the modem, it will be able to transparently connect to the outside world.. Much easier to manage IMO. The PDA and consumer devices don't need to use CDMA to connect with the modem.

10 years from now. Just some thoughts.
