Sun and Sunbeam Interesting article this morning about SUNW's new alliance with Sunbeam at news.cnet.com Not to sound too skeptical, but this vision of the future seems something less than breathtaking and smacks of a solution in search of a problem. Coffeemakers on the market today seem quite capable of being set to start brewing at 6AM without the need for a home appliance network and layers of software. Every electric blanket I've ever seen (does anyone still use them?) came with a temperature control. And my smoke alarm will already tell my alarm company to call the fire department if it senses a fire. Perhaps its just my lack of vision, but is this really the justification for Jini?
