This is the home page for the professional disc golf association. Lot of good info there.

The "ball" in disc golf is obviously a disc. There are many different styles of discs. Ranging from those which fly far (drivers) to the short accurate disc (putters). They are also designed from overstable (disc which flys left) to understable (disc which flys right).

The "hole" in disc golf is a basket. The site will have a picture of what the basket looks like.

Courses are set up just like ball golf... doglegs, straight and tight... etc.

There is a link on the pdga site which shows where disc courses are located near you. For around 25 bucks you can get started in disc (25 bucks is about what you will pay for 3 discs... a driver, a approach and a putter... the courses are free for the most part)
