I checked APC site and the reference was the same as what the "manual" I have says. Beeps simply mean stopping surges. It was just odd to me that: 1) the other APC unit plugged into same wall outlet did not beep and 2) computer froze right as the unit beeped.

I think #1 was addressed yesterday as there was talk of adjusting the sensitivity of the APC unit. The unit which beeped is quite a bit newer then the other unit so it may/is likely to have a different setting.

If it occurs again, i.e. beep and puter freeze, I will dig deeper.
