J.G., at 1500Gs, you have to wonder whether they test microdrives with a hammer or a bullet.

It seems reasonable that IBM's "G" values are computed on a "non-operating" basis. Given the recent reports about IBM drives failinmg in the field (not to mention the physics involved in a rotating device), I seriously doubt that the new Microdrive would survive a 4-foot drop while writing data.
