From Cramer's Trading Journal on the new RealMoney part of TSC: Gadzooks and Gadzoox 6/20/00 7:53 AM ET Short Gadzoox (ZOOX:Nasdaq - news - boards)! No, I don't care which Gadzooks and I don't care that there are two Gadzooks (GADZ:Nasdaq - news - boards). Just short 'em, short 'em all!! Anybody who had that epiphany in the last month just made a fortune. Last night, Gadzoox Networks (ZOOX) blew up. A few weeks ago Gadzooks (GADZ), the retailer, blew up. The retailer won't matter much. The other, the tech ZOOX, which hit the fan last night, will cause a world of hurt today. The reason is because Gadzoox Networks is in the red-hot SAN business, or storage area networks. Gadzooks competes with Brocade (BRCD:Nasdaq - news - boards), Vixel (VIXL:Nasdaq - news - boards) and Ancor (ANCR:Nasdaq - news - boards), which is being bought by Q-Logic (QLGC:Nasdaq - news - boards). A stupid market takes 'em all down. We are praying for a stupid market. Cause we know that Brocade is talking to everybody, especially Gadzoox Networks. We think that the market will not distinguish initially among these players. It never does. But some of these guys are just better than others. So, come on sellers: hit the SANS. We know the truth. In a few months you will find Gadzoox switches decorated with phony zebra skins being sold as dashboard trinkets at Gadzooks. And my kids will love them! Random musings: Don't say I didn't tell you.
