>>Those that get booted from SI get booted for violating the terms of use. Many on this thread violate this since personal attacks are one of the terms. There are mulitple attacks daily on this thread. It appears to me that those that are the worst offenders are getting booted and it has nothing to do with favorites or tattle tales.<<

OG, if I had the time to waste I would prove to you that you are so very wrong. It's enough for me to have read messages back and forth to SI Bob concerning terms of use violations to know this is true. They look the other way when it's a favorite son. When a fs cries just a tad about a ToU violation the post gets deleted. Happens every damn time. Like it or not, that's the God's truth. Favoritsm reigns supreme with SI Bob. Especially with the csco thread.

As a matter of fact, SI Bob doesn't even care about the worst ToU violation on SI, copyright violations. The Napster case is setting some interesting precedents that could create a plethora of legal nightmares for Go2Net and SI. IMHO, SI bob should be more concerned with deleting posts that violate federal copyright laws than mean spirited jabs. I wouldn't want to be the one responsible for AP or Dow Jones owning Go2Net because I was asleep at the switch.

Shares of networking equipment maker Cisco Systems aren't the first thing you typically think when it comes to picking out a wedding gift.

Um, sure it is!!

OT.

Gary,

In my humble opinion, if S.I. was as busy as it was in its heyday, personal attacks such as those you refer to would not be as noticeable and therefore have less significance.

It used to be a rare occasion when members or posts got suspended. Now it happens on an hourly basis. No wonder S.I. is dying. People are afraid to post.

Shame on those who go running to the webmistress whenever they feel offended. Censorship is bad, or so I believed.

Subject 34916

etc.
